In all honesty we're lucky to have two mother reps, their also both pretty unique I understand lucas used ness as base but most of their moves are entirely different. Porky is the number one choice for the next mother rep. The female party member and poo had all if their pk abilities given to ness and lucas. Although the non pk party members would be cool I don't know what they would bring as far as originality, maybe duster or teddy I guess. Porky would be the best choice being one of primary antagonists and actually being able to work good. I feel there is to little for the M1 giygas to work and the masked man just isn't as important as the former two.u

His reasoning is basically he didn't want to offend people who liked him in Melee, and honestly, I see his point. Sure he's just Mario in a doctor outfit but in the context of Smash, he's his own character, his own identity. Giving him a forward air that meteor smashes people or giving him FLUDD would be like having Falco have Fox's lasers or losing out on the spike on his down-air, it'd just feel wrong.

All of these are pretty silly since none of these franchises really need six reps, though I guess DK is the most deserving of more characters given it's scale and popularity, but Fredrik is such a wild stretch.
Frankly number 3 seems even more ridiculous than number 1. I love the mother games but aside from the terrible characters choices (Fucking Ninten, of all things, really?), it's such an utterly minuscule and unimportant series that I can't see it deserving more than it already has.
I'd much rather all of these have just stuck to two or three reps and then some unrepresented series get characters.

I mean, I like Cranky, in fact he's probably my favorite Kong, but it's obvious that people are drawn more to the character they can control.
K Rool feels like a bit of a bandwagon thing with people being more concerned over getting a villain than who the character actually is, though. I don't get that one.
