Please god no. Just cut down the amount of enemies on screen, make them stronger and turn up the difficulty. Fuck, just make Dynasty Warriors 3 that controls just as well as DW8 does.
This series has always been relatively low budget, making it open world won't help, especially with 80 fucking characters on board.
