That's the point I'm trying to make, I don't think they should try to make another LoK or SR game. Defiance had a strong ending. I think trying to shoehorn in another plot on top in the form of a direct sequel will just fuck it all up.
Nosgoth has a massive history, a prequel would be fantastic. Have the setting during the Hylden and Ancient Vampire war for example.

It's not even that much of a cliffhanger, just that it had some unresolved conflicts with the Hyldan. Kain and all of Nosgoth are finally free of their chains in a fresh timeline that is no longer under the influence of Moebius and the EG, opening up the chance for redemption. Of course, it would've been cool if that Dark Prophecy game came out and finally provide total closure for the Legacy of Kain but I think the theme of the entire franchise has been addressed excellently with the end of Defiance.

Nice thread, literally just installed all of the games today (minus the very first one) after having them on Steam for months. So when does BO2 take place? The Hylden are revealed in it, and they play a major part in Defiance, so I assume it's before Defiance, but Kain is young in it, so what the fuck happened there

It is enough and it needs no remake nor sequels for either character even though you could say the finale was open... that was a good thing in this case, consider the genre and the world of Nosgoth and Kain himself, do people really want him to see his destiny fulfilled and Nosgoth safe and Kain making Raziel and his brethren proper pillar guardians instead of monsters? why?
I think hope is enough in this case. It´s Pyrrhic and is uncertain and that´s why it is memorable.

Have you played the game at all? You have two attack buttons,a telekinesis that works different for both characters, environmental kills, lock on, juggling, special attacks, air combos, air to ground and vice versa attacks, you have dodging and a special attack bar along with 4 different sword imbuements.
Defiance was like Devil May Cry lite and it worked.

Nosgoth was mindless fun for a while, but it ended up being shit. Vampires have an insanely higher chance of winning due to all the ridiculous mechanics they have. The flying ones are even more annoying since they're silent in flight. The only remotely useful human is the one with the giant shield.

Before Dead Sun, there was Dark Prophecy. They had even started working on it immediately after Defiance before the whole project was shut down.

There was going to be Malek's Bastion, the Dark Eden (Kain was most likely supposed to travel back in time to help his young self), a Hylden fortress and a Sarafan building with repurposed Ancient Vampires' motifs and statues.

They did say last year that the franchise had a 50/50 chance of coming back during this generation so maybe they are thinking on going this route.
While it would be nice to go back to Nosgoth i still think this is not actually a good idea.
