The hole in the disc, that's where you put the pokeball's button thing in.
The disc starts to spin rapidly and you can see the metallic color of the disc getting gradually more and more transparent.
Once the color is drained, the disc stops and you toss away the used up TM. Interrupting the program as It installs, destroys the the incomplete program on both sides, so be carefulI explained It that way in a Pokemon TTRPG

One of the Pokemon Manga by Toshihiro Ono shows them as being a box, and it sort of telepathically beams the move to them. That series interpreted the Pokemon world in the coolest way, to the point where Pokemon would actually be a good game if that's how it was.

And if Pokemon can be stored as data, why can't that data be duplicated?

Maybe like, the main characters of Pokemon all carry around Teachy TVs like in FR/LG but you can't see them and the CD goes into your Teachy TV like a DVD or something and plays an instructional video on how to use the move they're being taught

Ironically enough the cloning glitch is done abusing the computer mechanics.
You use a music player to play the song for the pokemon who immediately breaks out into a dance displaying it's sick moves(the move you're teaching). Since my mix tape is so fire, it burns up and cant be used again but go to my website to order some new tapes and see when ill be playing live in your city and dont forget to share on social media it really helps out thanks and share.
