In the mean time miyazaki will oversee and supervise the development for DS3 but also wants to direct the a-team and put all he's learned from DS1,2 and DE into a game with a new setting.

Game bombed in Japan and probably barely broke 100k here in the west. It got released on a dead platform and the core audience is elsewhere. The kicker is it's ultimately just a shitty game. You can tell Nintendo funneled a lot of money into it but I have no idea what they were expecting especially after giving it first class treehouse treatment. Nintendo is out of touch these days and monolith should be sold asap if they want a hope in hell. Xeno is all but dead at this point, they would not have been able to break even with X.

Xenogears was a solid jrpg on the ps1 sold close to 1 mil and I highly recommend emulating and playing it, but from there, it's been a slow downwards spiral, xenosaga on ps2 got fucked with alot of censorship and poor localization, episode 1 was still pretty dam good, 2 was alright then Xenoblade chronicles came and kinda redeemed the series and became a cult hit because it was a pretty good game. Most will tell you it's far superior to X. X just has way too many flaws to appreciate it's perks, the story is garbage, the graphics are both good and bad at the same time. I don't know what the hell monolith is going to do now though, They should be sold to Sony and return to playstation but Sony probably wont pick them up now after the quality of X and I'm sure as hell Nintendo can't afford to get them around. It's a shame
