If you play it without any knowledge, on your first playthrough, it is definitely one of the hardest games released in the past 10 years or so.

I must've been a hardcore motherfucker when i was a kid, or modern gaming has spoiled me to the point of me being a literal mouthbreathing casual because those games are borderline unplayable for me. In fact a lot of old games that i played in my childhood and beat i've found almost impossible to come back and beat again like fucking Super Return of the Jedi or the Lion King on the SNES. But Wing Commander 2 i just felt fucking exhausted after beating it after failing some of the later missions dozens of times in a row but refusing to "eject" and skip the mission as an easy way out.

The most complicated part about it is getting the timing right on certain things and weighing the effectiveness of certain techniques.There's nothing wrong with having battles that require specific setups.
