One cave is regular bandits, the next is vampires, the next is skeletons and necromancers, the next is a poor man's College of Winterhold, and they even have fucking Falmer.
I mean, that's more than most caves in Oblivion which were just fucking goblins.

There was a good mod for Undead Thrall spell that raises the limit you can have as well as how you can interact with them to make them more like regular followers.
If you want to do a necromancer playthrough I'd say it's a must have.
