Is FO4 worth playing whatsoever? I thought NV was by far the superior game and from what I understand, FO4 falls into the same rut as FO3, with uninteresting characters, shitty plot, quests that don't have much choice, and then there's the dialogue wheel bullshit.

fo4 is good but it's the worst game to start the series on. Start with either fo1 or fo3. It may permanently ruin your ability to enjoy the other games if you fail to heed this. They're all really long lasting fun games.
Play New Vegas. It's by far the better game, but it'll be harder to get into if you play F4 first as it's graphically lacking.

I'm probably in the minority here but I tried and failed to get into FO3/NV. The plot and setting were fine but the gameplay really turned me off. Something was just really off about the actual gunplay and it ruined the experience for me.
In comparison 4 feels a lot tighter and more competent in combat and I'm enjoying it so far.

fo3/nv are built on top of the first two games. fo4 takes what fo3/nv created, destroys the framework of the first two games, and builds a fun fps game on top of it. If you love fps games, start with fo4. If you value rpg stuff more, start anywhere else.

You can replace meshes and textures already in the game, and you can hackishly use 3rd party Skyrim modding tools to change numerical values like weapon damage or loot spawns, but you can't create new content without the geck. There's already a fuckload of mods on the fallout 4 nexus but none really gamechanging without the geck,

I know (or rather, am rightfully assuming) FO4 is shit-tier when it comes to being an RPG. But I'm bored and want to play something to kill time and I'm wondering if it at least has the exploration aspect, for what its worth.
Also wondering if it's so broken and glitchy that it's unplayable and if I should wait until mods fix it up and make it a playable game.
