I finished my first playthrough of KOTOR 1 and 2 (I hated 2) and now I'm in an all consuming void where no game I play is as enjoyable as KOTOR.

I was relatively neutral most of the game, then when the twist hit me I really had a dilemma because I almost went dark side, but I ended the game light side and felt good about the choice.

It's alright. The story is indeed okay (not amazing but a lot better than most MMOs), and some of the specific class story lines are better than others. However, the side quests are shit and still grindy (kill 12 enemies, collect 8 loot). The worst part though, is that yo Have to grind to get enough levels before the next story quest as you level. The gameplay is literally WoW, I mean that completely. So give it a shot if you don't mind grindy MMO type gameplay, but it's still no where near worth it for a single player experience.

assuming you haven't played it; Bloodlines: Masquerade is an exceedingly good WRPG with an immense amount of replay value, just make sure you get fan patches.

Or if you want another star wars game, play Battlefront 1 and 2. Very fun games. Too bad online is dead, but the single player is still enjoyable.

I didn't k is about the exp thing if that's true. It could be worth it then, because the biggest complaint against playing it as a single player game was that.
The worst storyline that people usually point to is the Jedi counselor one. It's super generic and not very exciting. The jedi knight one is equally generic but a bit more exciting, some liked it though.
My personal favorite was smith warrior but played with light side choices. So you are sort of this Grey sith who is almost redeeming yourself from the inside. It's very refreshing to play a good force user who is not just "stupid good" if you know what I mean. The bounty hunter and imperial agent also have good feedbacks. I haven't heard much about other ones, the reactions seem mixed, so you might have to try yourself.

Too little is different between the two choices that it feels like Revan did not matter. The light side ending of KOTOR 1 was super optimistic to the point of cheese and the dark side ending implied the galaxy was going to be conquered within the month. Both endings are undone by Revan flying off to unknown space to confront an unknown threat.
I love KOTOR 2 but it is disappointing if you come into with the hopes of it continuing the story you experienced KOTOR 1. Obviously they had to somewhat unify the two endings of KOTOR 1 so they wouldn't have to make two different versions of KOTOR 2, but it really did feel like the original story was been undermined.
