So after getting a bit more fleshed out in Paper Jam, as well as having some dialogue with the now-personified Koopalings, what do people think of him? Still like or still dislike?

How as in how good, or how as in what does he do in it? I think it's a good game, although disappointing in its world building. It makes up for some of that for developing existing characters like Jr., though.

In a game series where the main villain himself usually has a minimal speaking role in the main games I'd say yeah it's a little role. Outside of design you don't need much for a Mario game. If an RPG spinoff gives more characterization I'm all for it, but overall I don't need depth to a Mario character so as such I didn't hate him when first appeared in Sunshine.

Roy is a muscle head tough guy.
Ludwig is full of himself and wants to be seen as the leader.
Larry gets annoyed when he gets called out for being small.
Iggy and Lemmy are eccentric and playful.
Wendy seems pretty normal.
Morton seems fairly normal as well.

Larry- Impatient, weirdly sucks up to Ludwig during battles but says he's full of shit when he claims he's their 'leader'
Lemmy- Way meaner than you expect him to be
Iggy- Crazy guy who gets a kick out of people doing insane things
Wendy- No-nonsense angry chick who'll beat the shit out of her brother for accidentally hitting her in the heat of battle
Morton- Dumb, but seems to have the most common sense out of the bunch.
Ludwig- Big ego, thinks he's the leader and even seems to think he's a king, which the others mock him for
Roy- Funny dumb muscle that bad things tends to happen to the most. Only one to ever actually speak with BJ.
