I'm playing Bravely Default. It's pretty good. I wanted to play FFV but then I saw that this was out so I had a go. It's not that cool that the rebuilding town part of the game is a tap and wait, although I did get dope gloves/spears/axes from them. Sleep points are fucking stupid and fuck that Bravely Second nonsense, I'm not stopping the battle just so I can win, that's not fair

Been playing Lightning Returns but I usually like to juggle two games at once. Thinking about picking a Tales game that I can emulate. But I also don't really feel like playing anything lately.
I've been playing Ni No Kuni, its one of the best JRPGs I've seen visually though game play wise its average and the story is far from Ghibli.
Also I need to go back to my Tales of the Abyss save, it gets a bit tedious at times so I've had it on hold for a while. Still I like the characters enough, I might go play Tales of Symphonia after that.
Just bought trails of cold steel on amazon. Alot of people said it was good so decided to check it out.
Is there any Legend of Mana bros here?

in 2013 i bought Persona 3 FES used for 12 € and played it for maybe 2 hours until i had no idea what to do anymore.
game is now worth 80 € used, and i am happy that i bought it.
oh and in P4G i got stuck when you are supposed to find out more about Rise i think. i just never found the right NPC to talk to so i stopped playing.
On topic i ordered Parasite Eve 2 and will probably play that despite never having played the first one.

The change was the battle system really, you had an attack phase and a defense phase. You had a couple seconds to get as many attacks in, which would affect your harmonics and such. Defense phase had a mario rpg feel to it where you had to time your button presses to decrease or negate completely damage to your singers. Also capturing all the IPD's was fun. # was the only one I didn't care for and it was really the battle music that did it. 1,2 and Ar no surge had great music but 3 was just a bunch of j-pop garbage and such.

For beginners, Pokemon and the Mario RPGs are good starts. Though, those aren't on Vita, obviously.
I can recommend Persona 4 Golden as far as Vita goes, though. I'm not sure if it's a good entry to the genre but it's still a fantastic game.

Yeah, SJ was my first SMT game. I liked some of the ideas behind it, because it became way too repetitive. As for SMRPG, the combat just wasn't all that fun. I would like to give it another try though.
Playing the original Utawarerumono. Story is fine, but combat is simplistic and boring and sex scenes feel out of place. I think I should have gone with the PS2 version.

I forgot about the Mario RPGs. I played Thousand Year Door if that counts, but it was very simple.
I guess by wanting a "first JRPG" I don't necessarily mean a simple RPG, I'm fine with complexity. I just want one that can be beginner friendly and doesn't assume that I already know everything there is to know about playing JRPGs right off the bat.
I dunno, maybe I'm getting worried over nothing but some genres are just hard to get into in general, fighting games for example.
