SGSSAA alone is great but HBAO+ really gives it that touch.

I think it was that by reducing the scope of the game world they were able to pull shit off in this that they couldn't do with a GTA: the schoolwide halloween event, giving each part of town such a distinct flavor while still allowing you to basically feel like you knew it like the back of your hand.
By the end of the game it felt like that was your town. Comfy as shit.
