PADZ is kinda okay, but has the most annoying characters and a shit story. Made even worse because the game seems to enjoy poking fun at how annoying the setting is.
Mario PAD is kinda dull. Making teams out of all the enemies sounds good at first, but there's barely any since they're only going with the mainline enemies. Plus, most of the evolutions are just "bigger enemy" or "enemy with goombas on top". That said I had more fun with the Mario version.

pads actually decent on the powercreep compared to other mobile games. its still there but pad updates shitty monsters with new evolutions to keep em relevant. unlike other games where once its obsolete its shit forever

There has been massive power creep this last year, but it usually involved buffing existing monsters, not introducing new stronger ones.
Mobile is the best due to how massive it is and how much variety there is. You don't need a perfect top tier team to succeed, just one that has decent synergy and the skill to back it up.
