So I got this damn thing to use on my PC (I don't have Xbox One).
I was told and read everywhere that all you had to do was plug it in via micro-usb cable, you didn't even need batteries.
I am running windows 7 and the damn thing won't connect, it keeps saying the drivers failed to download. I do a search for the drivers to install manually and every source links to the xbox support site where the drivers are no longer available because they are supposed to automatically download now.
How do I get this damn thing to work, all sources are telling me the same thing and I can't find any answers.

It also feels much better. Shoulder buttons are the best I've ever used and the D pad has such a satisfying click.
The only thing I don't like is the sticks can just pop off with enough force underneath, but the chances oftat happening are slim enough.

You can attach a USB cable to the controller anon.
I just use this thing and x360ce.
Its actually better then the 360 controller for emulation because the dpad is so much better.
And once you setup the anty dead zone in x360ce you can play games like souls or MGSV perfectly.
It required two windows 7 updates but I forgot their names

OP, if you pirated windows 7 and don't have Service Pack 1 installed, you're fucked. That's what happened to me, had to completely re-install W7 with SP1 before I could use the XB1 controller. But you know what? It was fucking worth it. Best controller for PC gaming imo.

The controller still uses the wireless frequency to send the input data to the system/wireless receiver. You're still going to need the wireless receiver.
