Because Beth makes shit games of which no one in the modding scene deludes themselves about. They take that game, ignore the shittyness of its entirety, and turn it into a waifu simulator and have some modicum of fun fapping to and posting their pretty characters online for other people to fap to.
If you're not into wiafus there's no reason to play Bethesda games.
I usually just install quality of life mods, plus the occasional cosmetic mod (for environments and towns). That shit helps smooth everything out.
