Paper Mario 64 has been my favorite game since I was 8 years old too. TTYD was magical as well. I fucking hated Super though, that game was awful.
Sticker Star was a fun ride for what it is. The level designs were simply amazing, the graphics are beautifull. The OST is wonderful too. Some boss battles are absolutely brutal until you figure out the weakness stickers - I did beat a few bosses without them, and they were challenging as fuck. There's a good amount of exploration and backtracking as well which I always like.
It's not a true RPG game like the two first games, it's more of an Action/Adventure game. For that I really liked it. In fact it's my favorite 3DS game.

Positives:
-Enough changes to feel fresh, while still being connected to the other 3D Zelda games.
-Heavy influences from Miyazaki, especially Nausicaa and Laputa
-Lots of characters, dungeon concepts and even the graphics feel inspired from the 2D games
-Some of the best items in a Zelda game in probably 10 years, unlike Twilight Princess which really only had two useful items. Plus, these items were used throughout the whole game, and not just in the one dungeon they were found in (again, a fault of Twilight).
-WiiPlus controls, while not always precise, were fun and unique. Combat feels improved over games like Wind Waker and Twilight.
-Characters were 100x better than Twilight.
-While still having a lot of 'forced side quest' stuff, much of it was improved from Twilight. Even similar actions like collecting souls could be done in a fraction of the time it took in Twilight. And the game only has 1 puzzle based concept, which ended up being a whole dungeon, which is vastly improved from all the mirror/sliding block/switch puzzles in Twilight.
-Impa, Zelda, Groose and the main enemy all feel like they have a large role.
-Some genuine OH SHIT moments.
-While flying, you could get anywhere you needed to go in under 3 minutes. Much better than the endless sailing or riding of Epona in Wind Waker/Twilight. People blow this way out of proportion.
-Being able to upgrade items was nice, though not necessary.
Negatives:
-Making Fi monotone and exposition based was a horrible idea, especially following Midna in Twilight Princess
-"Master, there is an 85% probability the next thing I will say will have an 85% probability."
-Too much dialogue for a Zelda game, which is also bad following Twilight Princess which had the same problem.
-Linear zones
-Ten different girls in the game who all want Link's dick, but the story forces you to only be with Zelda

Honestly, the game started off promising, but that weened down quickly as the game went on. Neat things towards the end, again, especially with the desert and time stones, but man was this a tough Zelda game to get through. Never have I felt this way about any other game in the series.
My favorite Sonic game even though it's technically a Shadow game. Made levels that could be used not only to get to the goal like Sonic stages in SA2, but also gave you other objectives to complete quickly if you want more than just "hurr speed."
Could use polish in some aspects, Sonic should tell you to drop down to attack the aliens below in Westopolis, but overall it is the closest we have ever gotten to the ideal Sonic game.

After replaying it, I found that it was much better than what I remembered. When I had played it back when it came out, I was pretty young at the time (24 now) and I didn't appreciate the combat mechanics fully, or even attempt to understand what the game was trying to do. I mostly just played button mashers and games like Ocarina of Time so I was used to games when you just spam B basically.
After replaying it I find the combat system amazing, if you're actually patient and make an attempt to understand it, and if you like mixing up your attacks when you're fighting. It is the best combat in the series, at least by traditional controls. The puzzles, dungeons, story, characters, writing / dialogue, etc. are also the best in the series.
