You know what killed Xenoverse for me? The fucking grinding. I don't want to fight 12980370213 battles against Goku for 10% chance that he comes back as SSJ for the 1% chance that he drops one of this clothing items. That was fucking worse than MMO tier grinding for practically everything in the game. Then on top of that there is just the grinding to level shit for the next set of story mode missions. If the game had an over world that put you into fights as your progressed, it wouldn't be a factor. The fact that all you do is move between boss fights with small optional side fights isn't enough. Running the same mission 20 times is fucking boring.

As far as it being the first game in a series, I thought Xenoverse was fine when it comes to gameplay. Budokai 1 and Tenkaichi 1 were much worse.
Unlike Naruto games, you can actually counter most of the cheap shit people throw at you. Plus, you can actually do combos because Xenoverse "substitutions" aren't as spammable as the Naruto ones. You can even counter subs with Down + Square (back attack.) All it needs is more destructible environmnets, polish, and no rng. Give me the items based of the rank (Z would give you all the possible items) not off of RNG. And those side events in missions should always happen if I fulfill the condition.
