Pathologic Classic HD is true to the original, their planned remake (the kickstarter thing) is considered so different from the original they got the HD version made which has a new translation.

I am a bit too late to the party - should have played the game 10 years ago when it was originally released.
But I didn't, so now it looks quite dated and it might negatively influence my first experience, even if it's a great game otherwise.
If the kickstarter thing turns out to be a good version with better everything, why not wait for that?
