The infamous Fallador Massacre. Back in the day, some leet haxor figured out a way to manipulate a skill (construction i think?) and kill several players in Fallador even though it wasn't a PK area. They got banned soon after, but I'm not sure if people were compensated for what they lost, but the day went down in history within the RS community.

It was when Construction was first released. The first person to hit level 99 Construction held a party at his house and anyone who did combat related activities like boxing or fencing and were then kicked out of his house still kept their PvP abilities outside, thus allowing them to attack other players while they couldn't attack back.

Personally I've always liked the sad or ominous sounding tracks more than the comfy city/road tracks. Chain of Command, Arabique, Dimension X. I like the songs that play at the barrows brothers; Dance of the Undead and Dangerous Way.
But some of the city/road tracks are pretty good. Autumn Voyage, Medieval, Forever are some that I remember liking.

Seriously,though, how did you all get into RS?
My older cousin got my family into it, so I would play with family and sometimes watch my brother play. During summers my younger cousins, nephews of and lived with older cousin, would go pk.
The tension we had from grinding for those hours to possibly have it go to waste was to much for our young hearts.

As someone that mainly plays for the quest I'd say that RS3 is worth it. The new quests are still fucking good. Heads up if you're gonna do the old ones; EoC had made a lot of them piss easy. A couple of fights can still ruin your day (that ice dude in Desert Treasure comes to mind) but most of them are a fucking joke. The new ones can slap your shit several ways to Sunday though.
And it goes without saying but you'll want to avoid the /vg/ community like the plague.
