i played this game a shitton on PS3 and still look forward to this PC release because of the improved graphics and framerate.
the game has a big ass open world, cool enemies (wich i agree too many samey fodder enemies but that makes the bigger creatures really stand out), a surprisingly good story wich kicks in just a little too late, a 10/10 final boss, great memorable characters and scenes, nice armor designs and weapons, and great combat and climbing on big guys and exploring.

It all feels very smooth.

Obviously I'm talking about the sort of people that can be critical of a game and isn't just giving out 10/10s like they are candy.

The most in-depth, complex and "hardcore" games are on PC. Of course I'm not claiming that they have mass appeal.
But because I'm not blown away by "lol so comfy xD" in Trails in the Sky to ignore the boring as fuck combat that has no challenge and really only is gripping if you are a hardcore Slice of Life Enthusiast, or dislike the badly designed levels in Valkyria Chronicles which encourage rushing, with very little tactical options compared to squad-based TBS games on PC, or the shitty netcode, online features and half-broken covenants in Darks Souls (I admit I still had quite a bit of fun with that game) doesn't make me have shit taste.
And Dragons Dogma won't be much different in that regard. Sure it has nice ideas, "epic" looking combat (which does get old fast though), but ultimately isn't the GOAT people make it out to be.
Somewhat glad i didn't get to play Dark Arisen(only beat vanilla), will get to experience some new content. How much does Dark Arisen add? I know it got some new areas but that's it.

Also it does some main game balancing like making port crystals more common during the main game, for example at the bottom of the everfall you can find a port crystal. Normally the only one you can find in the game is at griffens tower, but you can easily find 5 or 6 during the main game. Also there is a new default teleporting spot at the beginning village.

Has anybody btw, made a chart of the average height in dragon's dogma? Remembering that the characters scaled on different scales on their own and not in a singular one that has, let's say feet or centimeters.
Would like to know cause i'm probably gonna make a male arisen that's maybe a bit shorter than the average male, and woman whos a bit taller than the average male or the same height.

Just take the default character and add/subtract 2 from the height meter. There you go. above and below average.

The heavier a character is the more they can carrier but the slower they become.
The taller they are the more range they have with the weapons.
Carrying weight matters more then you think, even if you use the pawns as pack mules, they will eventually run out of inventory and you will have to start carrying the stuff yourself. Having a medium carrying load will have a major impact on your overall speed.
It also depends on what class you pick. If you are doing sorceror or warrior, then you might as well make your character a giant because there isn't a need to go fast. But if you plan to do strider/assassin then a smaller character will benefit you.
After you pretty much have gotten all the equipment you want, then you can make a small character for maximum speed if that's what you want.
