I actually think KOTOR handled this well. Humans spoke english and aliens spoke their alien fart sound languages. And the cool thing was this really cut down on voice acting costs because they could use the same alien-sounding gibberish for every alien of a same species. Yeah, it became repetitive because you eventually picked up on how every rodan is saying the same CHEEKY BREEKY shit, but it's better than either having the jarring effect of only some NPCs being voiced, or having everyone voiced and having less dialogue to compensate.
