How do I git gud at the stage 2 midboss? I feel like I'm missing something, I always get reamed by the weird rocket trajectories. It's not like it's impossible, I can make it through just fine but I always end up taking a whole bunch of damage and it annoys me to no end

Fair warning to the thread: You know the achievement for beating Suguri without getting hit? I did it in Match mode, but I didn't get the achievement, so it has to be done in Story Mode....I don't know if that means you need to beat Hime as well without getting hit.

I lost most of my HP on the second stage, so that's kinda bogus. I usually end up getting screwed and dashing into chains.

I managed to beat Star Breaker on easy, while bruteforcing my way through story mode.
Now I am doing the same with Normal mode and only just manage to beat Tsih. I feel like I enjoy stage 2 a lot more than I should purely because of the way the Stage BGM is just a prelude to the Boss BGM, and I love when games do that.
They made lots of changes where the game gets generally harder. Here's one of them, the absence of the bullets is actually detrimental because you don't gain hyper here.
When I try to record this attack with MSI I get awful stutter even at 480p, in the original there's no problem. Odd.

that depends on your playstyle. Sometimes it's almost unavoidable when you dash through lots of bullets, like in the Kae and Hime fights in SUGURI. Or in the Ex fights in Sora, where you can't really stand still throughout most the fight. But sometimes you can play conservatively with a precise weapon like Pulsegun or Launcher.
At 300% heat you take quadruple damage. Below 100% you can sort of "tank" hits which you aren't confident enough to dodge.
I know Rapid-rockets are the go-to boss killer in Sora, are they just as effective in SUGURI for taking down bosses?

they would be, but there the Bazooka dash attacks have a quirk: the firing direction is influenced by the held direction. Unless you dash away or towards the target while shooting you're likely to miss.
It's a decent weapon for static targets like Shifu since you can snipe him from long range without problems.

Then again, the very final laser used by Starbreaker 2 CAN be charged off. If you even see it, with sufficient bazooka spam you finish that phase real quick.

I think they realized that was stupid so they made the missiles explode closer to the laser. You can dash through the laser, but not the missile's explosion.
