You start with 45 crystals after giving them an email address. Then you complete 5 dates and get sex scene 1. To get scene 2-5 you have to give that character unique one time gifts that permanently improve resources gathered from interacting with them. It can drop from dates too. Sometimes a match 3 symbol will have a treasure chest attached to it. This is either a resource for building stuff on map or a few hundred potion.
Some quests have it as a reward I think. Click the left symbols and see if anything offers it.
If you actually manage to build something on the map you can get guaranteed red potion from dates. But that means paying for crystals to get the porn studio or about 7 days (estimate) grinding for a cinema.
