If you have Elliot in your party. Buy as many fresh eggs and rocksalt that you can. Make as many omelets as possible with Elliot. Then sell them to the shop owner, while buying even more fresh eggs and rocksalt. Eventually you will make 2K per 99 batch. It's not much, but better than being broke. Also you can exchange batches of crystals for currency, but the Elliot trick is the most useful early in the game.

Not really. If you want to do well in kiseki, you will learn a common tactic that has worked in every game: evasion tanks.
Take your heartiest character that also has decent evasion. Lloyd, sara, or fie will work fine. Equip them to raise evasion as much as possible. Put them at the front of your formation and put everyone else in the back. When a battle starts, tactically move to attract attention to the evasion tank. Let your artes casters do the heavy lifting. I don't know how they translated the spells, but keep craft guard and evasion up on your tank with adam's shield and shining. Your next two party members should be ats heavy casters. The fourth person should be a somewhat average character with lots of ep that you use just for buffs and debuffs.
An example of this setup that I used in many annoying boss fights is sara, ema, eliot, and rean. The formation looks like an upside down T. This has worked in every game and will probably continue to work as the definitive first playthrough nightmare build.

I highly recommend this game. However, if you can stomach a sliw burn and enjoy a comfy/charming story, I also recommend starting with Trails in the Sky on steam. It's a great game but it's meant to be savored.

It's all about buffing her strength up stupid high as much as you can so that you can have buffed at the start of the fight and have her use an S-Craft for her first turn to do a ton of damage. There's a Quartz that also increases the first attack done by the character per encounter, so that's critical to the strategy. Everyone else is already broken by learning their Crafts, really.

I know exactly how you feel on that since I'm usually the same way. For this series, I'm buying the digital English releases for now but plan on getting physical copies of the remakes on Vita because they're just that good of games (for me). If you want, you can always get the PSP version that does have an English physical release, but you might want to pick up the PC version anyways due to some bugs in the text and a cleaner translation job in general.
Also, in regards to that kind of fanservice, it's not too blatant, but it does suffer a bit from current anime/LN cliches like MC accidentally touches the tsundere blonde girl inappropriately while trying to help her, but the majority of it is handled fairly well. The focus of the plot is about the beginnings of a civil war rather than some dude's high school life.
