I had both. i always found it interesting how some games were almost entirely different even though they were named or appeared the same.
I had both but pic related and the Phantasy Star games made the MegaDrive/Genesis my favourite.
Plus Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, MK, Street Fighter II, Comix Zone, NHL 94 and a better controller made the MD one of the comfiest systems ever imo.I didn't play Chrono Trigger until 99 but it almost won me over to the SNES camp

I missed that generation by a hair, I was a PS1 kid.
I got a Genesis recently though, because I'm a Classic Sonicfag. The sound chip can make wonderful things.

I like the d-pad and buttons better than the SNES controller, the only problem was the lack of buttons, which wasn't a big problem with 95% the library of the console.

I can only remember one person that had a Genesis, and I played this really awful Adams Family game on it, and hated it.
