The last Bioware game I thoroughly enjoyed was Jade Empire. Not to say it was perfect, but it had a damn cool idea and flawed but fun combat system.
After that Dragon Age/Mass Effect each started with huge potential then their sequels spiraled into mediocrity.

When BioWare was good relies upon how early you started playing their games and how long it took you to realize BioWare has only ever written one story and just copy pastes it to every one of their games, then flounders pathetically when they have to write something original. The only time the sequels are good is when someone else does it, and people just continue to associate them with BioWare.

Bioware was good until the EA acquisition. Even then, they had enough steam left to release the awesome ME2. DA2 was bad but it was nowhere bad enough people make it out to be. I'd argue DA:I is overall a worse game than DA2.
