not only that op. outside of ps4 vr is useless unless you own a high end gfx card like 970 and a £200 cpu with minimum 8gb ram if i recall correctly
They said it was going to cost one amount of money, and everyone hoped that it would cost that amount so the technology would actually get some kind of market share and be relevant, so we can have the 3D waifu simulators we always dreamed of.
Instead they made it cost some other, higher amount of money, which more or less drives another nail into the coffin of VR. Unless someone comes along with a cheaper solution pronto and completely decimates Occulus with a comparable result at a lower cost, the hype will die and the whole concept will flop.
I imagine this news ALONE has tanked a few startups chances of getting any investment, the Rift is the one product the whole industry was meant to be riding on the coat tails of, and it let us down.

I own the required video card and cpu, but I don't have 3 free usb 3.0 slots. And I can't be arsed to install more for a peripheral i've never tried before and might make me seasick.
Oh yeah, I can alos use my smartphone as VR-goggles for 5 dollars in cardboard.
