I'm not sure what you're getting at, It explains where buddy came from, and it tells you how everything actually came to be the way it is (Still no description of what actually happened to all the women though) Sure you might not like the ending, but I wouldn't say it ruined it.

The ending wasn't the only bad thing about it. Joyful ruined pretty much every characterization established in Painful and was weak as fuck.

Same, LISA was huge here, but I stopped coming to /v/. I hope a resurgence comes. I remember playing the MGS HD Collection and thinking I had just missed a massive bandwagon, but then it became crazily popular on /v/ again thanks to Rising and MGSV hype
