I felt Brawls roster was the best in terms of representations nothing was over represented everything felt right. With a few changes I feel it could have been perfect.

She has been with the series since the beginning and will be until the end no matter how much you cry about it.
I honestly wouldn't mind a "reboot" of sorts. A smaller roster but with a lot of revamps and changes to characters and mechanics. Few characters seem overdue for some alterations (Ganondorf could be more of a sorcerer, Wario could be given some actual abilities from his game, maybe make him a grappler, Luigi could be further separated from Mario by giving him Luigi's Mansion related abilities)
You could possibly even get away with having more unique custom moves, at least on characters where it would make sense.
