I think DMC1 shines on the second playthrough, there are a lot of little things you don't get until you have a more experienced perspective. It's pretty much a Resident Evil with swords so keep that in your mind.

Yeah, I think it was a proto-RE3 and the guns kept enemies in the air which Kamiya thought was cool. I think DMC was birthed by a disagreement between Kamiya and Mikami, but I can't be sure.

I've put a lot of hours into both, and while I can look past the issues 4, I don't know if I can agree, I think it plays better and I like Dante more in 4, but it needed unique bosses and enemies to make it stand above 3.

it's just shit in comparison to any of the other dmc games
for example,most bosses consist of you standing in a corner and shooting, until it's dead

It's enemies are far better than 3's. 3 has too many shitty enemies that aren't fun to fight. Bosses can be a toss up but I still prefer 4's.
