Better than all 3D Mario games, to be honest.
If you're going to focus on sheer platforming, 3D is never the way to go. Might as well just focus on exploration mechanics instead, which is exactly what Sunshine did.
I liked it. It's not perfect but I still enjoy it. Perfect game to play during the summer

The visuals were really great for a gamecube game at the time. I remember being really impressed with the water graphics.

Great game. A very feel good 3D mario on the same level of 64 with very cozy beachy music and themes. Great soundtrack to play on trips to the beach and relax to and the level designs were very comfortable to play in. I hope to see a HD port and a Sunshine 2.
