It was pretty close, it holds so well today.
Still Relic fucked up with DoW2 and never recovered. DoW2 is a bland piece of shit. You knew it was doomed when the Thought of the Day wasn't even there, that reeks of softening W40k and pandering to the WEAK OF MIND.

Nah. It had some novel concepts but it was utter shit in terms of balance. Soulstorm was retarded shit with multiple barely-functional races, though it *DID* have some decent quality of life changes for some.
Dawn of Elfdar was fucking awful cancerous garbage (Lol my single worker that can teleport all over the goddamn map can kill entire guardsman squads by itself!). Tau were awful.
Dawn of war 2 was pretty cool, but sadly not very popular. Elite mod has done a lot of good for it but it's still a very small playerbase.
