It got CANCELLED because they couldn't fund it, and Sony and Microsoft shrugged it off. Later on, Nintendo stepped in. The problem was how the game had been set to be released in February, but despite the game being finished, Ubispft delayed it for eight months so it could be released alongside the PS3/360 versions. This was blatantly the competition paying for a timed release so the U version would have to compete with their versions. Even Rayman's original creators protested this.

They literally sunk all console versions' sales by releasing it on PC since, ya know, people can TORRENT THE SHIT OUT OF IT WITHOUT EVEN BOTHERING BUYING A CONSOLE.
This didn't had much of a impact on the PS4 and One versions since everyone and their grandma have one, but the Wii U version on the other hand, hoo wee. This was the best excuse one could have for NOT purchasing a console for this game alone.
