The term is a pretty wide though, isn't it? I think of myself as a goth - I wear a lot of black, I'm a night owl, I some of the music, a lot of the decor, identity as an outsider and write a lot of macabre fiction. But I don't go in for the makeup, for example, or lots of other stuff that'd stand me out publicly as a goth. I always thought it was more a mental position.
