What's your favorite rpg class/build?
Is it something generic, like fighter/rogue/archer/mage or you usually go for special snowflake builds, like magic archer?
>>322719692
tanks
because honestly, i can't trust anyone to aggro shit properly
I usually don't go for anything special, I usually like to either hit hard with average stats in everything else or be a full on wall that absorbs everything slung at me.
Depends on how I'm feeling when I make the character, though I usually prefer something that's fast and has high damage output. I usually end up going back to Monks and Rogues.

I pick whoever has the lewdest costumes
0% magic character. Usually a thief.Fuck magic.[/spoiler
>>322720832
>0% magic character
You hate fun or something?
Depends on what the game offers.
>>322719692
Anything with either summons or the ability to fuck with enemies like making them turn hostile to eachother those are my favorite
>>322719692
Anything with magicians. Magic is my absolute favorite.
Crit attack speed knight was my jam in RO vanilla.
I mean sure it sucked for a lot of things, but that two hand quicken though
Who bare fist monk here?
Pure physical warrior most of the time.I try a little of everything though.
Samurai class if there is one. If not I usually pick the flashiest class.

I like Final Fantasy Red Mages in concept.
>Can use up to medium level Black Magic
>Can use up to medium level White Magic
>Can fight with weapons and equip heavy armor (less HP and STR than Warriors and Monks to)
>Specialize in using Status Effect magic
>looks rad as fuck
In theory, they should be pretty useful in any situation and close up any holes in your strategy when you need a little more here or there, all the while they apply negative status effects to the enemies
but . . .
>Status effects are always useless on smaller enemies as they can be 2 hit killed most of the time, and every fucking boss ever is immune to everything
>>322727989
>In theory, they should be pretty useful
No the shouldn't
Masters of "everything" are always useless
>>322728123
useful for filling out in places where your specialized units can't be for any reason.
>>322719692
Paladin's usually my first pick
Tiny holocauster.
>>322728608
loli rorona>adult one
healslut
melee weapon + projectile magic for arpg
mage with status effects for everything else
Im not gonna lie.
Im usually influenced by the most recent thing Ive watched, read or am otherwise into.
Currently playing a sorcerer type character

This, RO knight was so fucking unique and cool. Lord Knights Berserk for attack speed shenanigans was also awesome.
>>322719692
If we're talking turn based, give me something that can hit hard, move fast, and die easily. This is my favorite member of the party next to the buffer and healer.
If it's real time, I just want something with a guard and/or dodge, a decent self heal, access to at least one ranged attack, and balanced stats. A jack-of-all-trades, I guess. TERA's priest class is a close second because of their dodge moves.
If archery is fun, this is usually my first choice.
If not, something that can't take much damage, but dish out a lot. Assassin for instance, not because I'm an edgelord, but because I want to plan things and use a variety of tools. Or somekind of fancy fencer.
dodge tanks are cool.
>>322731054
Fuck off, Astrid.
>>322735740
Ranged or fast-attacking melee. I hate slow physical attacks, even if they happen to be objectively the best in a particular game.
>>322719692
Mage or Battlemage (paladin-like but elemental magic)
knight/wizard hybrid
or
pure knight
or
pure wizard
fuck rouges tbqh
Special snowflake here. I wish an RPG besides KOTOR would support a 'duelist' class who fights with a one-handed weapon but an empty off-hand. In most games it means missing out on gear or skills that require use of a shield or second weapon.
Other than that I like classes which have a channeled beam skill.
Sword n' shield guy
>>322721464
But the most fun class in DD are the one that don't use magic
>>322737594
Shields are underappreciated. Shield/Sword combo is the mark of a true knight.
Stealing magic is fun
>>322738354
For me its the go to weapon when I get a choice.
the most special I get is the charge blade in monster hunter
>>322738523
Blue Mages are weird, like, on paper they're basically gimmick mages and yet somehow super strong in almost every FF and are easily one of the best supporters in the series and sometimes even a very effective attacker.
>>322738631
most of the sword and shield forms for charge blades are pretty sweet
Witch is the only correct choice
>>322728123
The Master of one thing is useless in nine other things.
The Jack of all Trades is useful in all things.
The versatile guy who can do everything "well enough" will be far more valuable than the specialist. With few exceptions, that specialization is often unnecessarily overkill.
Doesn't matter if it's a Red Mage in a FF game, Bard in D&D, almost any other game or the real world. It's the guy who knows more than one way to solve a problem who will be solving most of the problems.
>>322719692
Loli spellsword, obviously. Even more so if they use 2H swords.
>>322738523
BLU for XIV when? How would it even work? I didn't play XI.
>>322741070
>Doesn't matter if it's a Red Mage in a FF game, Bard in D&D
kek
both are the most retarded classes
>>322742150
>Tourist isn't the most retarded class
You're intentionally crippling yourself, so it has to be the worst class to start with.
