Egypt as a setting would be way more unique than the generic mountains and grasslands we see in open world games all the time. And according to the leak they're supposed to be revamping the series and making it similar to the Witcher games.
The setting at least will probably feel like AC1 where there was an area joining the major towns.
I miss the glyph puzzles from AC2. Those were always fun, but then they were just gone.

problem with this game is in it rotten core.
Mechanics of the game are so shallow, background noise story(abstergo-templars) should carry this game, yet it is most weakest part(no one gives a shit about some deeper lore, there is none and what there was was long revealed).
There is another layer of rott, fact that AC games are a spin off of Prince of Persia, that alone overstayed the welcome far more than maybe max 3 games,yet they went full retard and made this shit an yearly release?!
This shit happens when huge studio is so fucking far away from the happenings on the ground(whats in,whats out, whats always in, what was always out but it was constantly pushed and forced by big AAA developers.)
I honestly believe they will make same fucking game as all the rest, just a reskin in Egypt, and they will wonder why the fuck did it flop.
These type of games deserve an trylogy max, then 5 to 10 years on ice or lets say, rhythm of releases like from TES Bethesda(every 5 years), then it would work but as yearly game, its totally ludicrous.

For me it's 2, Brotherhood, and Black Flag. 1 was pretty cool but felt like a tech demo at times, and I got bored and never finished Revelations. Haven't bought any of the ones after Black Flag.

The combat's the same as always.
I like how they kinda brought back the bit from the first game where investigating everything gives you more things in the mission but I wish they'd actually be important. I'll get the mission, do the side things, and then they don't play a role in killing the target or escaping. It'd be cool if you messed up and the target had a chance to escape or fight like in the first game. "Assassinating" and then fighting Robert de Sable was fucking awesome. Maybe if they try to escape, a group you helped gets in the way or something.
The murder mysteries I've done so far are boring as fuck and easy, so I don't really find them compelling, hopefully the rest are better.
I don't really care for the city that much right now. And movement is pissing me off but this is the first AC game I'm playing with Kb+M. Might just switch to my controller

Back when I was convincing my father, or maybe my mother, to buy Assassin's Creed for our dusty old PC, I was trying my best to sell the history angle. I didn't need to lie - it was near Christmas and I wasn't asking for anything else - but I did anyway. I added a few more time periods to the game, shifted the setting towards England, and became genuinely excited relating a level set in a modern day museum. You got to use any of the weapons on display and could finally apply your experience by fighting real bad guys. I don't know why I remember that, but I still think it would be nice to have a level like it eventually: where you find yourself unarmed and hunting an artefact in a templar-filled museum.
I hate video games. I hate that I used to enjoy them so easily. There was so much fun and excitement to be had that I didn't even need to play the fucking things to get myself worked up.

And the missions leading up to the actual assassinations were about undermining the big Templars' resources before striking at them. Plus Ezio was an actual character compared to Altair
