I am 21 years old. The most fun I have ever had on a video game was Halo 3 customs. There was so fucking much you could do. I hated CoD because it was nothing but "shoot the guy". In Halo 3 you had Jenga, Journey, Fat kid, Wild goose chase, cops n' robbers, cat and mouse, Colosseum, Elephants in the sky. There were so many glitches and easter eggs that the last Easter egg to be found was literally discovered 7 years after the game came out in 2014. You could get Elephants to fly by cleverly attaching a Hornet to it, There were so many ways to get out of the map and secrets there that showed you were supposed to get there. It was fucking increadible. The least casual big hitter AAA game to have ever come out.

Halo 3 was released in 2007 though and it remained fiercly active for years. That's a lot of months that millions of players had to pay the sub free for. And that's not even mentioning the subsequent games.
Obviously Halo's popularity and draw as the premier multiplayer game has steadily vaned but that was at the time the undoubted reason why a PC port never came.

People like to blame Halo as the reason FPS games turned to shit, but even then they still had a lot more to them than CoD, with high mobility, and high time to kill required, even if an opponent got the drop on you, unless they had a power weapon, you still had a chance to pull out of any fight, unlike CoD where it's a game of who sees who first.
Combat Evolved and Halo Reach even gave you a layer of non-regenerating health underneath your shields that made you much weaker once your shield popped unless you got a health kit.

I know exactly how you feel. Whenever anyone says Halo 2 was the last good Halo multiplayer I feel like hatefucking their armpits until they die.
I'm more interested in knowing if mostly single player games cost more to port than they usually make. And if they do make more money then this opens up a lot of questions.
