I have so many questions about this game. Why does it ignore the ending of Mass Effect 3? Did they not want a "canon" ending? If the effects of the deus ex machina didn't reach that far out, couldn't some reapers still be alive considering they're an immortal race of sentient machines tasked with the murder of all biological life? Wouldn't they have branched out somewhere else in the universe as well? Aren't they supposed to live in some breach in space time? If they didn't branch out that's retarded. If they did and the deus ex didn't effect them that's less retarded but still really fucking stupid. This game also proved that the synth ending at least isn't canon if the universe isn't now populated with half synth half organic beings. If there are more relays it proves the destroy ending isn't canon either. So does that mean the canon ending is Shepard choosing to control the reapers? Did every one just rebuild the relays because they have centuries to study how they worked? What were the consequences of the end game? Too many questions unanswered for me. I don't want my favorite franchise shit on.

Most likely all these answers will be left unanswered. The reality is, and I've been saying this since 2012, that with the decision of Drew Karpyshyn to leave the writing team of Mass Effect for TOR (which was a fucking retarded decision since TOR sucks) the writers of Mass Effect 3 had no idea what to do, and instead of giving a simple ending like Dragon Age : Origins, they wanted to multi-branching open endings that made no sense in the end. Mass Effect 3 is without a doubt, the greatest disaster in the history of gaming, considering how good its predecessors were.

Anyway, they have an absolute clean slate with this one since it's in a new galaxy and they most likely left before the reapers arrived. They can ignore the ME series completely and only use the fantastic universe they've built.

Could very well be if they learned their lessons. Literally take the good aspects from ME1 and combine them with the good aspects of 2&3. That's all you need to do. There were a few significant mistakes but the trilogy was a perfectly good set of games.

Rumor two: It's really long after the trilogy, ergo, Shepard is more myth than legend (like the ending with Buzz mentions). It also happens in a galaxy far, far away.
TLDR galaxy far, far away, no choices affect it, so new ayylmaos, new technology, no tie ins except the name and that some people call you the space cowboy (or a gangster of love)

I just hope the enemy isnt just another an ancient evil Awakens. They should concentrate on giving the game a more Frontier feeling where exploration and setting outposts for the races of the Milky Way (humanity, who am I kidding). The plot should revolve on you trying to claim a planet as a homeworld for the survivors of the Reaper menace.
Too bad I just remembered that they mentioned an ancient evil Civilization already, so it will be an ancient evil awakens AGAIN.

I found DA2 an abhorrent abortion of a product but on the other side, I kinda like ME3. Cisquisition was a decent game with too much MMO garbage crammed in.
