GOTY is a dumb idea overall, you could have a totally shit year for games but one of them would inevitably be more enjoyable than the rest.

The Witcher series in every incarnation can't get away from the most carnal sin of entertainment: it's boring. The setting, the characters, dialogue and interactions between the characters, the gameplay. All of it is so bland and forgettable, it has no real substance to it all, absolutely nothing is actually interesting. Everything feels dry, with no personality, no quirks taken from the writer.

Bloodborne was not better than the witcher. Bloodborne would have been objectively better with a more consistent framerate on better hardware. Sony knows this, and they funded bloodborne in order to make it exclusive, but they won't be funding any more playstation exclusive from games since bloodborne didn't perform as well as the witcher 3 did when it comes to critics.

Witcher 3 is an alright film with terrible combat and traversal. The writing and graphics are good. I finished it, and enjoyed it for the most part but the gameplay is just not very good.

Witcher 3 is getting so many nods, not just because it's the better game, but because it's technically more impressive than Bloodbourne. The world CD Project Red created is worth celebrating. The wide variation of characters, almost all well voice acted, creates a breathing world that Bloodbourne just can't compete with. While the main story is serviceable, it's the side content that makes Witcher 3 so great and alive, and solid gameplay mechanics can only get Bloodbourne so far. While Bloodbourne gives you little lore making the player fill in mane of the holes themselves, Witcher 3 dives deep into it, which to me is more impressive.
I can see someone enjoying Bloodbourne more than Witcher, I really can, but Witcher 3 is just a much more impressive game and the devs deserve the praise for their hard work. I also think CD Project Red is much more based than From.
