Is there any character in this game who didn't do anything reprehensible?
>>322577836
Most of your party members are just dudes trying to get by. Some of them are just down on their luck drunks, Terry probably didn't do anything harmful to anyone before he joined brad. I have no idea how rando built the rando army, but he seems to be well-respected enough.I killed Marty and I don't feel bad. Rot in hell, you sack of shit.
I'm going to miss drinking with you;_;7
>>322578728
Rando may be cool himself, but his army is a bunch of thugs. He's either incompetent or malicious.
>>322578728
Terry was just a lonely loser. He's that guy who you'd dare to eat a rotten apple out of the trash and he'd do it just to feel like he'd belong.
He left his home because a mutant blocked his way back, and he wandered off and got stuck in that tree.
>>322579714
he's just too faithful
>>322579740
I think most of the party members are losers or outcasts like that. The only one I know that definitely isn't is queen.
Fly? He's just a guy, most of the party members actually.
I know some like Goose led lives as serial killers, lots of them are Joy addicts so that could be construed as reprehensible (Tiger, Buckets, etc).
>>322580814
Tiger was also a serial killer. And given the company Buckets keeps, he's probably done some fucked-up things too.
>>322581698
Ugh I save scummed the Russian Roulette area and lost it all to the third encounter since I'd already sacrificed an arm for Terry. What a useless putz, his ultimate attack wasn't even that good.
What was everyone's party?
I had Brad, the drunk that would spit liquor at enemies, Fly and Jack. Though I tried Bo too but didn't get to use him enough. Fly's Puke ability was so OP.
>>322583152
Brad,
Birdie (the drunk oils split)
Mad Dog, (spike club guy)
RD (duffle bag guy)
Mad Dog, Brad, and RD have brutal fire attacks that stack with bridies oil spit
>>322578316
Shocklord.
Doesn't ever attack at the end
>>322583529
Shocklord is the one true bro.
>>322579649
>Wake up one day
>Someone kidnaps him
>Don't have 100 mags
>Fight them
>They kill terry and I murder them all.
Fuck nigga, I gave up all of my possessions just to be short on a second ransom.

he's an accomplice to terrible people, be they his gang or Buddy.
Bo Wyatt: "... Your death won't be for nothing... I'll miss you."
Birdie Hall: "Aaah Hell... I guess this is it eh? One last drink for the workin' man."
>>322583152

>>322585438
am I also a pussy for reseting If a joy mutant snaps all of my party's necks?
>>322585438
I played painful joyless on my first and only run and I hold absolutely zero shame about savescumming the fuck out of this game. Even then, I suffered "acceptable" losses when reloading meant losing progress I was not guaranteed to win back.
>>322583152
Olan, Beastborne, Ajeet.
>>322589197
yes
gonna nab this game before the sale ends, is the joyful dlc a must buy or should i just buy the base game?
>>322591284
joyful is a 2h epilogue and isn't that good, only bother if you really like the main game
I honestly felt no need for a second run on The Painful, the final saitisfied me enough.
>>322585438
That part where they forced it in the story was fucking retarded because you could lose all of your guys and get a gameover and there was nothing you could do about it. Happened to me and then immediately after I didn't lose a single person.
>>322578728can you not kill marty?
i tried not to but brad just blasted him anyway.
Big Lincoln is such a disappointing fight. There's no challenge to it at all.
How come Sindy was so much better?
>>322591851You can't, because Brad is too nuts at that point
>>322591851
Of course Brad was gonna kill him, it's like the thing he hates most in the world
Read the bio newfriend
>>322585438
FIGHT ME!
>>322592379
>>322592436
in all honesty i would have killed him if i'd gone through the trouble of figuring out the backstory
i thought he was just a shitty alcoholic dad.
i just dont know why it gave you the choice.
>>322592985
I think it's to emphasize that, at that point, Brad's following the Joy, not you/himself.
>>322592985
It's like Rick
Most people would've probably let him live if actually given the choice, in fact you just stop hitting him, but it doesn't let you progress until you do
But you clearly see Brad isn't exactly in the state to be making decisions, even if they are brutal and against his old friend
>>322592985
I fucking wish Terry actually looked like Fred Flintstone.
>>322592217
Because he was 99% dead and could still kick your ass.
Big Lincoln was really easy to me because I had that self-heal skill. I dunno how it's possible without it considering how limited items are in Joyful and how fucking long the fight is.
>>322593685
i wanna know what the fuck that leg is in front of brad.
>>322593916
It rather easy to beat Joyful without mend. The only reason people complained that it was too hard was because no one was taking Joy. Dingaling buckled by adding the 'can't-possibly-lose-now' mend skill, even if he did mock them by adding 'Easy Mode'.
>>322594283
>didnt take joy all game because i was trying to be a good boy
>get to the final 4 and get pissed off and say fuck it.
>mfw blowing through the last 3 of the bosses using my massive stockpile of accumulated joy
it makes the game too goddamn easy
I only have enough money to either get Lisa or Downwell. Should I just get Lisa? It's been on my wishlist for a year.
SOUP'S
>>322595317
ON,
>>322595297
youre gonna get more fun from lisa
>>322596036
Thanks
>>322595297
I paid for the collection
5 bucks, art, OST, 2 games
11 hours in on Lisa, not even to area 3
And it's funny and enjoyable
Plus I like the story and how gritty it is
>>322596460
I wish I had enough money to buy the collection. Is it worth it for the dlc?
SOUP'S ON BABY
>>322596547
I enjoy all the dlc
The music is good and you get OST from both games , so you can listen to them out of the game if you want
Like dis: https://youtu.be/caAtClGy0s4
The artwork for each member is awesome
Haven't even played second game, still working on first after 11 hours
Then I might replay it with different party members, since there are like 30+ and like 20 are very usable
I'm really fucking mad about Columbo not being a boss fight. He bullies brad all his life, then randomly kills himself? What?
>>322597596
I always figured it was just his way of saying sorry for all those years of shit and had a lot of self loathing like everybody else.
I wish Joyful hadn't made it canon that Brad slaughtered his entire troupe. Would have been something to see Queen Roger as a mutant.
>>322583152
Brad, the drawing guy, Ajeet and the weeb with his katana and his cat. I thought it was cool to give lots of status to people like blind + burn + bleed and then power up brad with naughty drawings to kill all the shit.
>>322593916
>>322594694
Most people forget that you can get Horse Jerky from the bartender. If you killed the bartender before fighting Big Lincoln though and you're playing on a pre-Mend version of the game, you're pretty much fucked.
Horse Jerky makes Big Lincoln one of the easiest bosses, though.
So in joyful, you can take your mask off. If you talk to the dresser - salesman gut with the mask off, he attacks you. When you kill him, he says "Oy Vey!"
>>322599557
I used joy in the end because I had forgotten how to go back to area 1 and couldn't be arsed to search it when area 2 sellerturned into a mutant.
Well, since it doesn't change anything, whatever.
>>322599104
I thought people that took joy became joy mutants when they died. I thought that's what happened to brad. Queen should have become a joy mutant, as well as the salvation ranger you get.
>>322597596
Seriously? I thought was was really good, made me cry a little
>>322599836
They mutate if they OD
>>322600081
You eventually mutate even if you don't tho.
>>322597596
He won't even let you have the pleasure of killing him. It's supposed to feel hollow.
>>322599836
Joy addicts don't turn into mutants when they die. They change when it's been in their system for long enough (a single pill is enough) and they experience an intense emotion.
>>322600081
Brad should've become a mutant after buzzo forced him joy. I had withdrawal that whole last part of the game and I OD'd? Fuck that.

>>322600428

It's another of Columbo's "fuck you"s. Maybe you thought it was some revelation for both Brad and his rival, which is fine, but I interpreted it as another way for Columbo to take something from Brad.
>>322583152
Brad
Tiger
Birdie
That ninja guy you get near the end
>>322600569
Why would you even play the game if you don't want it to be "painful" ?
>>322600670
The whole setting suggests otherwise though
>>322585438
I save scammedthe whole game.
>>322600670
>Brad thinks he's a nobody loser
>learns Columbo was always jealous and envious of him
>Columbo kills himself

SUMMER LOVE
>Mfw just finished Lisa the Joyful
>Mfw actually tearing up like a bitch at Brad's fight
God damn, it's been a while since I've embarked the feel train.
>>322601840
Brad died at the end of painful. His mutated body just hadn't stopped moving around yet.
>>322601319
It wasn't just Columbo, I believe Rick also envied Brad's lifestyle which made Brad uncomfortable.
>>322584125
some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them.
>>322578316
>>322583152
>>322601840
It's was my first run, went into Pain mode since Terry teased it like hot shit.
Had Birdie, Rage and Mad Dog to oil up and fire up anyone in my path, I tried to keep Terry in, but I had to swap him when he kept fucking up on a boss.
>>322602302
Yeah, I had the ending where he turned up into a creature
>>322602302
>he died
this never was explicitly shown though, nor implied
>>322602814
>>322602861
You guys don't understand. The mutant creature that is crawling around is not really brad anymore, he's dead. Just like when someone is in a permanent state of vegetation, that person is dead, their body is just still alive. The thinking being that you knew is gone forever.
>>322603660
Yep, and you're still gonna feel the feels man.
>>322603660
brad claims to have been dead for 35 years already, so you're pretty much dead the whole game
>>322583152
Brad, Terry, Birdie, Fly
Brad for stunning, Terry as backup utility early fight, birdie for oiling/getting terry drunk, Fly for other debuffs
oiled up + drunk hottest dance does around 20k damage. I killed Satan in around 6 turns with this setup
>>322604304
nern is a way better support than terry
>>322604370
Terry has hottest dance
>>322604405
nern can give your party members rage, do huge heals, has sleep, doesn't need the drunk guy
>>322604997
hottest dance does 20k when buffed
I don't think you understand
>>322604997
>doesn't even mention his biggest asset that makes him a damn near staple of every team
>can restore TP
>>322605045
You can do that with beastborn easily, also yeah hottest dance is nice but terry will probably get 1 hit and die on the first turn anyway
>>322604231
>He thinks he said that because he's been literally dead for 35 years
What he meant by that is that he feel like he is dead, that he had no purpose to life. How can a dead guy raise a girl by himself, and then go through the entire world just to save her?
>>322605557I know I was just fucking around
Best ending is Joy ending where Buddy becomes xboxhueg and finally ends Brad's pitiful existence.
>>322585030
Just realized Bo Wyatt is just Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt's names mixed together how this went over my head i'll never know
>>322606370
Ah cool he also has a missing brother
>>322607054
Probably named Bray Dallas
>>322605557
>he actually felt like he had to explain this
lurk more
>>322578316
>Is there any character in this game who didn't do anything reprehensible?
>>322608690
I felt really bad for him. Wish Buddy wouldn't have been such an edgelord for like 5 seconds.
>>322610449
I wish Joyful didn't come out the way it did. It should've just been the short epilogue Dingaling planned it to be instead of a DLC thing.
Playing as Buddy immediately after everything, trying to pick up the pieces of your life and tying up the loose ends with Rando and Buzzo instead of hunting down the warlords.
Buddy being some stone cold killer instead of a pragmatic survivalist was just silly.
