Out of all of the big fighting game series, Street Fighter is perhaps the stiffest and most lopsided. It's shameful that the gameplay standards it puts forth are what is used to define the genre.

so hype, played all 3 betas and it was crack everytime.
I liked the SF4 series but I didnt own a current gen console till like vanilla Marvel 3 dropped and I never really played online. I had a few nitpicks with the game and wasn't happy with the netcode, I regret not playing Ultra more but the roster is filled with characters that I KINDA like and I don't feel strongly about.
SFV Nash is probably the most fun I've had with a fighting game character in ages.

Of course the characters who are designed to have long normals have long normals. The issue is that most characters DON'T, and animations are incredibly deceiving when compared to the hitbox almost universally for the cast which is not satisfying to put up with. And yes, it is my opinion, just like saying the game isn't fun is my opinion, but those are the reasons I don't like it. Most of the walkspeeds are slower than SF4's walkspeeds for Christ's sake, and I already hated walkspeeds in SF4. Dashing is much faster though which kinda helps, but dashing is much less safe than walking, and with everything having short as fuck range, not being able to reasonably move closer to your opponent feels really bad to me. There's so much push back on attacks and throws have such shit range and such long startup that trying to set up a tick throw is a chore, the game is like 90% frame traps and they know it because of how hard they're pushing the fucking crush counter bullshit and button priority, which are not bad mechanics, but I don't want to play a game that is almost solely designed around this shit.
SFV is going to be a good game, but I don't care because I don't enjoy basically anything about it. KoFXIV on the other hand is showing great promise and is looking like a return to 98 which I've been fucking waiting for since 98.
