Nintendo only does exacluives, and those make up the majority of its library. You can't discount games on a system just because they're on the PC or PS4 as well, and if I was to name games which aren't console exclusive that list would be ALOT longer. A console is supposed to be a standalone gaming platform. The Wii U is more of a secondary system which you need to couple with something else, since having just a Wii U means you'll miss out on most games, which isn't the case with a PS4 or Xbone.

Nah. The only game I see worthwhile nowadays is Bloodborne. And lets not talk about Xbone, Microsoft disappointed me this gen a lot more that they usually do. That only leaves the Wii U that people love to bash so much yet it's the most worthwhile console of this shitty gen (and this doesn't say much). Next to none of these are actually good though. Just because you have a big list of notable titles doesn't mean they're actually good. Most of these are very average / mediocre.
The most notable titles would be:
Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, but they were linear and ruined the 3D Marios
Zelda TP, which is a good game but it's the non-definitive version
Donkey Kong Country Returns, but it sucked due to some gimmicky levels and average level design in general; DKC1 and TF were way better
No More Heroes and Madworld both sucked and were vastly overrated

The biggest bottleneck in the speed of development is that you can't use official Nintendo binaries (firmware for example) so you have to make workarounds, which cost time and accuracy.

I'm not debating the second part of your post, but this is what you don't get - I don't care if it's hard. I don't care about the excuses. I want a stable version of Zelda U to play. That's why I will be playing it on the Wii U, until the Wii U emulator is pretty solid.
Don't get me wrong, I like emulators, I even played through TP on Dolphin recently even with its audio rippling in Hyrule Field and other minor problems. But I just don't think it will be able to emulate Zelda U as stably as I'd like, and this is a game I'm going to want to play day 1.

Unless you are totally OK with playing stuff like Fallout 4, ego shooters, strategy games with a controller (or not at all because they're PC only) or most games at 20 FPS when you can easily run them at 60 FPS on PC (Witcher 3, Just Cause 3, Fallout 4).

Well, the only games I like on it are Pikmin and Bayonetta. There have been a few games I haven't gotten to play yet, but i'm wary to buy more wii u games because I pretty much hate every single one of them and I'm tired of wasting money.
I'm looking forward to starfox, pikmin 4 and cautiously zelda wii u. The #fe game doesn't look bad objectively (if you're not a FE or SMT fan).

I'll work a little harder this year to get a PS4 to play the rest of the games I wanted.

I really don't know what Nintendo were hoping to accomplish with the Wii U, since it's clear they have no intention of supporting it properly. 2-4 mediocre-to-decent releases and a handful of shovelware-quality titles per year. Yet the whole time they lavish the 3DS with attention and games. But even the good games on the Wii U are largely inferior to what they were making 1-2 decades ago.
I don't know what's wrong with them. Everything they do seems to be the opposite of what people want. Are they just unwilling to devote the resources to HD game development, so stick to making cheap handheld crap? Is it shareholder meddling trying to make them chase after easy profits with fads and gimmicks like mobile, DLC and amiibos? Or have they just genuinely lost talent?
If the NX is a similar blunder (which seems likely, since it doesn't seem like Nintendo have learned anything from the Wii U) I wonder if they'll finally bow out of home consoles and go handheld/mobile only. It's what they seem to want.

I don't really play it otherwise. Project Zero was fun, and I will probably get Xenoblade down the line. But the PS4 is looking to be my favorite console this gen, it already kind of is.
