I'm assuming you already have DSFix since everyone already knows about it, and the only other real mods for now are texture mods and SweetFX. Nexus is the best place to find them, but if you only get 30fps now you may want to avoid texture mods as they can cause the game to freeze up for a few seconds when the replaced textures are loaded.
I don't think SweetFX will make it run any worse though, I personally recommend the one called Cold and Sharp from this page: http://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls/mods/289
