I'm playing Dark Soulson PS3right now, and I'm having a lot of fun with it, but I've run into a problem, none of the bonfires are working, nor are the Homeward Bones, I know I'm not being invaded because the Dark Separation Crystal isn't working. It all started after I accidentally hit the female undead merchant, if that helps

Are you sure all of the bonfires aren't working? The Firelink shrine one eventually turns off if you free lautrec.
You can also try dying near the last bonfire you rested at to see if the game will boot you to it and to make it easy to pick up your bloodstain.

My friend actually told me about that, so I killed the guy, I got a nice ring out of it too, and I've tried 3 different bonfires so far, and I believe the last one I rested was the Firelink shrine, so I should go back there to see if killing myself fixes it

Here's the whole thing in spoilerJoining the Chaos Covenant and offering 30 humanities to the Fair Lady to rank up grants you access to a shortcut to Lost Izalith, one of the late-game zone. In that shortcut, there's some harmless big insects, and one that don't respawn and drop a certain item.
If you don't kill that particular insect and progress through the story normally, you'll meet Solaire infected by it later, causing him to go insane and attack you.

yes, but the marginal utility of every point spent on resistance is radically inferior to it being spent on, say, endurance or vitality. actually iirc endurance had similar effects on defence plus it increased stamina AND equipment load. you do the math.

EVERYTHING boosts resistance, RES gives a higher boost, but you plainly don't need it. Armor and leveling naturally gives you all the resistance you need. Not to mention resistance is something you don't really need to begin with.

You gotta increase your drop rate, there's a ring that does that. Having humanities also slightly improve it.
Rats have a decent drop but if you have the DLC, I'd suggest doing it, in the last zone you'll find a very sweet spot for humanity farming and getting 30 of them is a matter of minutes.
For souls, if you're early game run back and fort the drake's bridge so it burns the udnead and you get 550 souls in a few seconds, it's right next to the undead burg shortcut too. I assume you meant 7800.

He was only desperate, and tried something extremely dangerous. Somewhere the game mentions the sunlight maggot's ability to take control of the host. The reason it doesn't take control of the player, is that by attacking it, you put it in a paralyzed state.

Might be a bit late but cant you exit out of the game through the menu? If not try going a hard reset of the console. I had a glitch on the ps3 version before that was extremely similar to yours. What happened was that an invader tried to invade my world and his connection was so shit he lagged out. So the invader never connected but my game was stuck in that constant matchmaking state. I couldn't use an bonfires and it only corrected itself when i just off a cliff to reset everything. Whjch sucked because i was running through the Tomb of Giants. Major shitshow
