This'll be the first time I actually play through DD entirely, and I want to do a Magick Archer build. I get really OCD faggy with min-maxing in RPGs though, and with the way stat growths work I'd have to get to max level without even touching Magick Archer to get the most out of it. I want to actually play through the game as a Magick Archer, will an average stats balanced build be viable in post game? I was thinking on starting as Strider, and hopping around between Assassin, Sorcerer, and Magick Archer.

Make a sexy caster pawn, playing purely as a sorcerer. Don't worry about inclinations, those can be managed later. Bestiary knowledge is more useful than inclinations anyhow

Magick Archer is one of the more powerful classes. Were you keeping your gear up to date/upgraded? Anyway, warrior you can swing around fuckhuge swords. Or assassin is considered the easiest/friendliest solo class.

Perhaps 'bullet sponge' was the wrong term, I just meant that it felt like I was playing a shitty shooter rather than an RPG sometimes. Take a DF Revenant Wail for 1366 Physical Attack. Even someone who went 1-10 Mage and 11-200 Sorc can score 1624 physical damage versus a min/maxed 1-10 Fighter 11-200 'Sin at 2322 (the Sorc is missing out on ~30% damage total).
Or stick with the Dragon's Glaze and have 1064 physical plus 1330 magic for a total of 2394 on the Sorc or 1762 phys plus 722 magic for a total of 2484 on the 'Sin because you literally cannot fuck up with a hybrid weapon.
About the only way to genuinely fuck up in DD is if you go max physical build then try to be a Sorcerer. Otherwise you are just fine.

Honestly, magic in this game blows Souls magic out of the water. Summon huge tornadoes, meteor storms, a lightning whip, pillars of ice, etc., as well as homing balls of fuck you if you ever miss the feeling of magic in souls.

Not him but I'm also going to call it cut content (because whatever the reason that's what it IS) unless they were crafty fucks and just renamed it while leaving it in or legit cut it out but snuck in new items to replace them without advertising such so as to pleasantly surprise those expecting it to just be gone outright. And while the stats were replaceable or outright inferior to other options the appearances were not, and missing out on the clothing/cape pieces will probably be the biggest loss because muh Fashion Dogma and all that.
