It's probably really exciting if you don't play video games, but it's the same modern AAA game I've been playing for years and years with a different coat of paint.
Also it's disappointing that the game gets so much easier as you play it. In Batman the later enemies can actually be really difficult to fight against because each one has it's special gimmick, but in Shadow of Mordor as you unlock more ghost powers you just automatically bypass more enemy gimmicks until you're just back to mashing attack like at the beginning of the game.

It's still samey as hell. There's nothing original about it (the Nemesis system was ridiculously overhyped by professional reviewers) and it doesn't even have much variance in environments or enemies to make up for it. Locations are in two slightly different looking open zones with some shitty orc structures strewn throughout them. No indoor locations or interesting boss fights (holy shit did they blow it there) to mix things up.
At least the Batman games have better collectibles and gadgets to keep things interesting along with what is generally pretty good variance in environments. Shadow of Mordor is literally Assassin's Creed with a slightly different combat system, less variance in game objectives, and a gimmicky 'boss' system.

Such a boring game. Those first couple of hours of excitement fade quickly when you realize that's the entirety of the game. Weak story, no meaningful combat progression, no reason to explore the world beyond what is blatantly given to you.

That faggot posts those every chance he gets, in reality DD has a pretty similar system to Souls but faster with no roll button and blocking only on specific classes. In fact now that I think of it it's like a better Lords of the Fallen.
I do like how it has a just guard mechanic and your abilities can be swapped out, just wish it had some kind of faster dodging mechanic and stats you could control instead of just stat growth based on your class.
Fun game though, I recommend picking up the PC version when it's out, I grabbed the PS3 version off a friend and even at sub 20 fps it's very fun.

Assassin's Creed 1, 2 and Brotherhood were decent games, they had an interesting setting/story and the gameplay was somwhat innovative up to that point
After Revelations though it only got shit, it tried to redeem itself with AC4 and AC Rogue but then it got shit again with Unity and Syndicate
They might have saved the franchise if they had gone with the original idea of making Watch_Dogs the modern-day Assassin's Creed, with Desmond as the protagonist, game would have been much better
