To me, everything from the beginning of Tsavo Highway to when you kill Truth is some of the best Halo campaigning there is. There's a ton of variety, and it's all really fun.
Things I loved about Halo's SP campaigns:

I never really got the idea behind those. You can at least skip a cutscene (unless the devs are fuckheads), but the HL2/Bioshock formula just locks you in a room and makes you sit through an unskippable cutscene that you can run around in. That's fine the first time through, but it makes subsequent playthroughs tedious as hell. It's partly what has kept me from going back to HL2.
I personally prefer a game that gets the main story beats in cutscenes, and everything else through in-game chatter and/or audiologs.

At least the legends canon explored the political reformations, and this movie avoided it altogether in favor of SUPER space Nazis. It's a boring cop-out so they don't have to deal with any moral complexity. Star Wars is best when the black and white morality is questioned and challeneged; the shifting of moral alignment defines the relationship between the light and dark sides. It's what made Vader and Kylo so fascinating.

Depends on who you ask, but I think the general consensus is that it is suitably competitive and a very well-balanced game. Better or worse than 2 is subjective, because 5 has a lot more movememt and weapon choice variety that complicates things. Some people may find these changes superfluous. Some may find them detrimental. Others love them.
But it is a competitively enjoyable and rewarding game that Halo 4 and Reach never were.

Boy oh boy, this. Finishing H5 marks the first time that I've reached the credits in a Halo campaign, and not been at least a little bummed that it's over. I truly do not give a shit what happens next. By the end of 5, Jul is dead, and what's left of his Covenant was decisively defeated on Sanghelios, so I'm guessing that means it'll be nothing but Prometheans in H6. Hooray, I can't fucking wait for the tedium.
I kind of wish that the "leak" that turned out to be fake was what we actually got. 343 needs to hire whoever made that up, because it's better than what they've got going. In terms of political clout, from what I understand, the NR was performing relatively well, and a whole subplot of Leia appealing to the Republic for official support (and to end the demilitarized state?) against the FO, indicating that the Resistance, while capable, was not a military might of equal power to the FO. The girl on Hosnian Prime is Leia's ambassador from that cut subplot.
Whatever the case, the FO is now an invading force more powerful than whatever the NR has left. They have at least one Star Destroyer. The NR fleet was destroyed (you can see it consumed by the shockwave in the movie), and the Resistance has no known fleet to speak of.

In the third book, you also get the maximum bro moment between the Chief and Johnson. See, in the previous books, Johnson was one of those few normie (or, not so Normie) Marines that could stand there and stare the Chief down, and commanded some respect between the two of them, In the third book, Chief is given the choice to inform the UNSC about Johnsons apparent immunity to the flood (And get him put on a science table), or lose a potential immunity to the flood for Human Kind. Chief's a bro and decided not to inform the UNSC about that bit.
