All that needs to be done now is to decrypt the partition, figure out the FreeBSD-based OS and what they did with AMD Liverpool and what its radeon driver.
Then, we should be able to spin up a virtual machine and just run the code natively without any heavy emulation.
As for emulators, there's also Xenia for Xbox360, Cemu for Wii U and Citro for 3ds on the works. Anything else I missed?

There's XQEMU for the OG Xbox and technically RPCS3 is tinkering with Vita support.
There's also a second Wii U emulator called Decaf which has received far less progress than Cemu BUT is open source.

It's not simple.
Both the xbone and ps4 are doing security quite well (that video is done on a non-updated console and probably has been patched already).
All system partitions are encrypted, whatever can be signed is signed.
If that guy in the video could call a system reboot from a browser then there is a good chance that he might be able to dump the memory and look for the keys.

I think the main thing is that we'll soon (however long that actually is) be able to play those same games we've played, but at a higher resolution and smoother framerate. A big part of it for me is that the more consoles I can accurately emulate, the better. I could easily play games from 10 different consoles back to back without having to swap cables on the back of a TV.

Nah, SotC only needs 4 gigs + Intel Pentium G3770. I ran it on my shitty $400 build a while ago.
There's a few bits where it slows down (primarily the final battle and a few effects-heavy parts), but it runs pretty well overall. It wasn't 1080p, mind you, but it wasn't native resolution. I think it was somewhere around 2x native.

Littlebigplanet 1 & 2 emulation with online support would be a dream come true for me and a few people I know. Uploading and playing people's online levels I imagine would be impossible though, I guess if people were able to join eachother atleast then we could just build comfy shit and share it amongst our selves.
If community support ever became possible then everything would be fresh, like playing it for the first time again, which is something I've wanted since I quit Littlebigplanet 2
