never owned one, is it worth picking up or have all the worthwhile games aged terribly?
If you have a Wii or Wii U just use the Virtual Console. If not, go for it. Even its most aged games are tons of fun.
Just fucking emulate

Emulate if you can. There are a lot of great n64 games and the games are definitely worth playing.
Naw dude all the old games still hold up for the most part. The graphics aren't an issue, and if you're a bit of a technical nerd you can also have fun doing autist speed runner things. Not to mention the fun of cheat codes.
Early 3D games have aged pretty badly in my opinion, I much prefer SNES games over N64 games these days.
That being said, there are still good games for it so it's all up to how much you are willing to spend.
I want to say yes but im going to say no ONLY because the best games for it are WAY too expensive now due to resellers. Your best bet is if you get an N64, shelling out a couple hundred for an Everdrive64 is still cheaper than trying to actually find the carts. Plus ED is 100 percent compatible unlike the shoddy emulators out there.

This. Most of the exclusives games on are Virtual Console, Xbox 360/One, or PC.
For the few that aren't, just use Mupen64Plus emulator. Only buy one if you want one for collector's purposes

never said OP should buy the games dumb nigger if anything he should buy a flash cart

>muh accuracy
for someone with no nostalgia for n64, emulating is acceptable

I own and play on my n64 but some games are stupidly expensive. I guess they could buy a flashcart if they want to play on the system without selling their arm and leg.
