Fun Combat, 90% re-used assets from Xillia 1, lots of grinding.
Haven't played Zestria yet but Xillia 2 is pretty decent aside from all the filler stuff.
It's better than 1, and IMO the best Tales game sincePhantasia.

X2 is a really fun game. It is the most fun I've had playing Tales since Graces f. Character has a voice on NG+ but is mostly mute for your first run, for spoiler reasons.

Storywise, it's my 2nd favorite in the series. There's a lot of really good songs too, particularly boss songs.
It has pacing issues, and 90% of assets are reused.
Ludger has a fucking high skill ceiling amongst Tales characters, if you want to git gud as him.
I'd really recommend it if you liked Xilila 1 and want more Xillia.

Depends. Ludger May Cry pretty much forces you to have Ludger in your team unless you want to deliberately nerf yourself.
However I preferred Xillia 2 in spite of that since I just reused Jude as my main and repaired him with Leia the Slayer/occassionally Gaius for that sweet Grand Beast action and having my girl Muzet as my fourth for that sweet teleporting action.

Objectively it plays better than Xillia but the story will either hit well with you or it won't. Depends on how much you value your family and/or like family tropes and themes.
Zestiria is only worth a play if you just want to sit down and play a game for no other reason than just playing a game.
Zestiria's story is lackluster and doesn't have the combat to make up for it.
You can't even sit down with some Tales Of bros and play with them because the camera is so shit.

AI of party is really bad in NNK and the game holds your hand the entire way and the story goes shit after they exhaust all of the 3DS portion the original had and you do the White Witch shit.
It was still pretty fun though and NNK2 will be great if they fix the problems of the first.

The main play issue is the camera, though you can somewhat address that by setting it above you and zoomed out and avoiding walls. The skill system is also overly RNG dependent and not really worth bothering with unless you want to dump a lot of time into it or cheat to get straight to the good stuff. The AI can have trouble against enemies that hit really hard, so you might want to tell them to defend or avoid direct combat.

I usually find ways around it by switching characters or armatization but the skill system I haven't really done much with other than fusing items and collecting those chibi seraph creatures.
I'm probably heading to play Abyss or Vesperia next since those seem to garner praise from the fanbase as well.
I'm liking it so far though the characters have been growing on me and the story, although it's a simple retelling of a typical hero's journey it's got a few nice side attractions and lore.

You can also just free run away from walls. The camera can be managed, but it can be annoyance having to manage it. A lot of people here seem to consider the characters one of the better aspects of the game, so they won't really be a problem unless you care about Alisha/Rose or get mad at the heroine being a boy.

I always get so confused about the Nova part. I thought that all happened in the past, and Ludger moved on from it. Or at the very least, he managed to stay friends with Nova (fuck her sister by the way, she really shouldn't have been in the end game credits picture being friendly with everyone.
